Q&A: Low water pressure

I have low water pressure in my home. What is the problem?

Firstly, check if all your taps and outlets have a similar problem. If only one or two taps have low pressure, the aerators may be blocked and need a clean.

If all taps (including external taps) have low water pressure then there could be a problem with the meter, the water service from the meter to the house, or the pipe work external of the property and it is best to call a qualified plumber.

Low water pressure from your pipes is commonly caused by old, corroded, galvanised pipes, an obstruction in the line or an undetected water leak.
