What to do if your house doesn't have a final plumbing certificate

If you've received a letter from the Gympie Regional Council lately about your house not having a final plumbing certificate, you're not alone. They're cracking down on illegal plumbing and making sure homes are safe and compliant. There's no need to stress right away though. Here's what will happen when you call a licensed Gympie plumber:

1. We'll assess the property

We'll arrange a time with you to come and inspect your property. Once we're there, we'll look at everything on the property, from downpipes, to septic tanks, to the kitchen sink. Small details can make functional plumbing illegal. For example, pipes may need to be redone in a different material to meet AS3500 (Australian Standards for plumbing), or a concrete pad may need to be put under a pressure pump. If it's something very small, you can ask us to fix it right then and there.

2. We'll provide you with a report and written quote

Once we have made a thorough inspection of your property, we'll provide you with a report detailing the plumbing that will need updating to meet Australian Standards. We'll also provide you with a quote that will outline the costs to make the necessary changes.

3. We'll make the property compliant with Australian Standards

If you're happy with the quote and ask us to proceed, we'll perform the services outlined in the quote. The work will be completed to a high standard and we'll make sure it will pass the upcoming inspection.

4. We'll book the Council inspection

Once we're confident the property is compliant, we'll arrange for a Gympie Regional Council Plumbing Inspector to come to your property to confirm its compliance. We'll make sure it's at a time that suits your schedule and we'll also be on site during the inspection to make sure everything runs smoothly.

5. You'll receive your Plumbing Final Certificate!
